TRENDS for 2015- MOSAIC in the GARDEN!

An ancient construction method has reemerged this spring. The new trend for 2015 is the use of mosaics in the garden! You will see this beautiful technique on everything from outdoor furniture, embedded in patios and even in outdoor walls!

The traditional method involves embedding small pieces of glass or broken pottery into wet cement to form patterns or designs. In ancient times, these mosaics were worked into building floors and walls in elaborate patterns. Some ancient mosaics have remained for over 1000 yearsPatterns like the one seen below are created by using small pebbles embedded in cement. These are known as 'pebble mosaics.'
